In a fallen world so full of unpredictable circumstances, it’s easy to get confused about what God is doing. We feel like He wan
ts us to head in one direction and then that door seems to be closed. Sometimes I (Jeff) struggle to know how hard to try to make something happen and whether that would be operating under my own strength and plans instead of God’s.
In Acts 16, the apostle Paul encountered this too when he tried to go to spread the Word of God to Asia and to Bithynia, but both times God stopped him. Later in the passage, Paul gets a vision of a man from Macedonia asking for help, and he and Silas conclude that this must be the Lord’s new leading. But when they eventually do go to Macedonia, they are harassed for days and days by a demon-possessed girl and when they stop her, they are thrown in prison for it! Do you think for at least a moment, Paul and Silas wondered, “what are you doing, God? I thought you told us to come here.” Of course God uses both the girl and the jailer as part of a greater story that grew a faith community in that city for generations!
Just like Paul, we are making sure to obey our fir
st calling (called to be His children) and trusting the Lord to complete the good works He calls us to and begins in us along the way. Why not take a minute to ask God whether He wants something for you that isn’t what you had planned?

At the Spring Break Mission Trip, 2,500 Cru students reached out to partying vacationers and saw 504 place their faith in Jesus Christ, while the Cru students themselves were changed forever. Here are the words of some of our students.
Here’s an encounter two others (Dean and Bryce) had at a Sonic restaurant a few blocks from the beach: “We immediately struck up a conversation with Tom and Alex, two high school spring breakers from Upstate New York who agreed to take our short survey. When asked how they would rate their desire to know God personally (from 1-10), Alex gave it just a one, saying, ‘I wouldn’t want to take away from the mystery of God by having a personal relationship with Him.’ Tom, on the other hand, gave it the highest mark of TEN! In a quick silent prayer, I asked God for wisdom how to proceed with two people on such opposite ends of the spectrum.
You and I and all God’s children are invited by God to join in HIS mission to rescue all those who are separated from Him. As we embrace our role of partnering with individuals and organizations on many different levels, God has put some fascinating people in our lives. We, in turn, get to encourage them just as YOU encourage us!

Maddy never thought that video games could change her life. In fact, she wasn’t even interested in video games, but her apartment’s community director, Jaymy, invited her down to their video game tournament outreach saying that Cru had set up a Green Screen Photo Booth.
She opened up a lot that night, along with Dia and several others. Maddy is hungry for a relationship with God and is asking good questions. Pray for Jaymy discipling Maddy and for all the others reached through newfound connections between Cru,
