On June 12th, my wife and I celebrated our 12th anniversary!
It was a marvelous day together, but it was marked forever by the shocking events that happened at the Pulse night club. As the eyes of the nation turned toward our city, we went to the Lord for wisdom in how to respond.
Students at Full Sail have a lot of connections to the tragedy, both because they run through the summer and because of the nature of this school. I’ve even gotten to pray with a young man who was there and put in the hospital because of the attack.
I am so pleased to share, though, that several churches have stood with us to meet students’ needs and help them process.
We have been surprised by how many students have come to us hungry to engage and learn about Jesus because of this event. Please pray for God to continue to minister through the ripples of this horrible incident, drawing more people to Himself!
Many of my students are graduating with hopes to use their gifts to bring God glory in the entertainment world. Sadly, Hollywood culture can be as strong a current as the campus. That’s why I’ve been working to establish relationships with those thriving Christian evangelists who can help the “freshmen of Hollywood” unpack and plug in to the mission.

At the Spring Break Mission Trip, 2,500 Cru students reached out to partying vacationers and saw 504 place their faith in Jesus Christ, while the Cru students themselves were changed forever. Here are the words of some of our students.
Here’s an encounter two others (Dean and Bryce) had at a Sonic restaurant a few blocks from the beach: “We immediately struck up a conversation with Tom and Alex, two high school spring breakers from Upstate New York who agreed to take our short survey. When asked how they would rate their desire to know God personally (from 1-10), Alex gave it just a one, saying, ‘I wouldn’t want to take away from the mystery of God by having a personal relationship with Him.’ Tom, on the other hand, gave it the highest mark of TEN! In a quick silent prayer, I asked God for wisdom how to proceed with two people on such opposite ends of the spectrum.
You and I and all God’s children are invited by God to join in HIS mission to rescue all those who are separated from Him. As we embrace our role of partnering with individuals and organizations on many different levels, God has put some fascinating people in our lives. We, in turn, get to encourage them just as YOU encourage us!
We met him on a tour of Full Sail University where he voiced a desire to use his gifts to help reach students for Christ. His 
Maddy never thought that video games could change her life. In fact, she wasn’t even interested in video games, but her apartment’s community director, Jaymy, invited her down to their video game tournament outreach saying that Cru had set up a Green Screen Photo Booth.
She opened up a lot that night, along with Dia and several others. Maddy is hungry for a relationship with God and is asking good questions. Pray for Jaymy discipling Maddy and for all the others reached through newfound connections between Cru, 
More recently, though, her leadership has truly been tested! The lives of black students at her school were threatened after a gathering in front of the student center in support of peace across the nation, especially after the death of a black student at University of Missouri and the terrorist attack on Paris. The threat was made on a fake Twitter account indicating that if any black men or women were seen they’d be shot or killed on the spot.
