Jonathan stopped me (Jeff) when he saw me wearing a video game backpack. To be honest, that was the point of the backpack, and it happens a lot! Jonathan is a web designer who loves video games and has a big heart to reach others for Christ who share that interest…but he felt alone and unequipped to do it.
As we have worked together, he has grown so incredibly in this area – reaching students at the eSports club at a nearby college (several have now started coming to church with him!), volunteering with outreaches, starting spiritual conversations in games online, and even starting a live-streaming channel where he plays games and shares his faith!
Karen and I help people like Jonathan and his students, building them up in their faith so that we can send them out as Christ-centered laborers. Here is an example of how you are multiplying your faith into others who are passing it along to still more people in a cascade until the whole world sees! God is changing lives, and we are thrilled to serve Him in this way!
To help us do this even better, Jonathan will join me and over 5,000 missionaries for our Cru25 national staff conference this summer. Through Cru’s ministries, an average of 25,500 personal conversations about the gospel take place every day! Cru25 gives us the broader picture of what God is doing throughout the world.
It brings into sharper focus our mission to give every man, woman, and child on this planet the opportunity to hear about Jesus! Jonathan will be volunteering with me at the conference to mobilize more missionaries and their kids into the incredibly populated but relatively unreached realm of gaming, including upcoming opportunities related to the World Cup.
