Geoffery and Leticia are an amazing married couple in Illinois, whom we met through Instagram. They love to spend time in a digital platform called VRChat, and they had wanted to share their faith with the many people they meet there…but they had always felt alone.

     We were able to walk with them in that space and teach them how we start gospel conversations! Fast forward a year, and they have been regular members—and even leaders—of our weekly outreach team into VRChat, where they have had hundreds of conversations with people about faith. Geoffery’s technical knowledge has been incredibly helpful in learning how to navigate in this space, and God has used their tenderness to open people’s hearts.

     Geoffery has helped me train student interns, and even our executive leaders, how to share their faith in VR! He has also begun volunteering with Cru on their local campus in Illinois. Now, Geoffery and Leticia ask for prayer as he considers working full-time in ministry with us!

     Have you ever had the feeling God wanted you to be somewhere, and then been blown away when you discover why? That was exactly how we felt the other week. Jeff and I arrived home around 1:00 in the morning after a long journey, and we were going to take a day of rest…but we felt the Lord tugging on us to get up and go to Cru’s Day of Prayer. A whole day of praying can tire us out even when we are well-rested, but we trusted that God knew what He was doing!

     We had the opportunity over lunch to reconnect with some dear friends who were on the cusp of a difficult and painful situation. They wanted to protect their family from something terrible, but they felt like they had no choice.

They met & prayed with us, and felt genuinely heard & understood. We shared this simple tool for weighing options against values when making a big decision. They really felt God show up and open possibilities they’d never considered! Please pray for these precious missionary friends as they follow God in freedom and unity through the trials ahead!

     Recently, twelve students from five countries spent three weeks together learning how to minister through playing video games with people! This conference was hosted by multiple ministries working together, and our role with Cru was to teach them how to start spiritual conversations and explain the gospel. Here’s what some of them had to say:

One highlight was having the opportunity to bond as fast and as deep as we did, with each other AND with God. I need him more than I thought, and I need to follow him without doubting. He’s going to send people to help me get through it, and I should learn to rely on them.

Multiply School ignited a fire of desire to serve God and people. Now, in every moment, I try to find a way to show God’s love and lead people to true faith.

     Does God still reveal Himself supernaturally? That’s what some Cru students found on their spring break mission trip to Estonia, a post-Soviet Union country of only 1% Christians, where they are taught that faith could cost them friendships and even careers. The students had hundreds of spiritual conversations during the trip, sharing the gospel with many. They only encountered three Christians, one of whom was Trinu (“tree-new”).

     Trinu was walking past the library when Cru folks asked to chat. When asked how she came to faith without knowing a single believer, she said that a random podcast led her to do research. Then, she and her husband prayed: “God, if You exist and I’m a sinner, show me.” That night, Trinu’s husband had a movie-like dream of every sin he had committed since childhood, and Jesus appeared, offering to take his place in exchange for his allegiance.

     He woke transformed and shared with Trinu, who herself had felt an overwhelming sensation of Jesus wrapping His arms around her. She knew without a doubt that she was forgiven and deeply loved. Please pray for Trinu (center below) and her husband to be bold in their faith, along with the new community of believers Cru is trying to build there!

     This month, we have the opportunity to work with the local team at Ohio State University. God did a powerful work through the football team last fall, with over 800 students coming out to hear six OSU players present the gospel. 50 people put their faith in Jesus, and 60 were baptized!

     Now we are working to engage the campus again. Those six players were featured in a video game made by EA Sports (“EA College Football 25,” the most successful sports video game in US history). We are working to bring the players and the game company together to reach even more students.

     Please pray that many students come out to play, make friends, and discover Jesus. Pray that the partnership we are building with Athletes in Action and EA Sports would also open major doors for the ‘26 World Cup that will take place in the US!

     Before Christmas, we had the amazing opportunity to shepherd the very top leaders of our ministry in how to share their faith online.

     We took them into VR Chat—what many call the “Wild West” of online community—where we paired them up with digital ministry leaders who introduced them to people all over the world (non-Christian students, and even a former Satanist).

     I was blessed to be able to lead Shannon’s team of executives (on the left here, the president of our Campus Ministry). Together we approached two students who are in a country we wouldn’t be allowed to set foot in, and those students invited us to explain Christianity to them!

     During debrief, the executives commented how easy it was to get into deep conversations with real people here. Please pray this opens more doors to reach more people!

Thank you so much for your prayers for the Involvement Fair and our Football Outreach last Fall! The OSU Cru team was able to survey thousands more students that visited our table on the Oval, many of which joined us at our Football Outreach that Sunday evening!

Well over 800 people showed up to hear TreVeyon Henderson, J.T. Tuimoloau, Emeka Egbuka, Kamryn Babb, Master Teague, and Gee Scott Jr. talk about how Christ has transformed their lives! When Gee offered for those in attendance to receive Christ into their lives over 50 people came up to be prayed for and over 60 people were baptized!

Please continue to pray for these players, the people who made significant decisions for Christ and for our continued follow-up of this record-breaking freshman class! God is moving in consistent but also new ways this Fall Semester and we are so thankful that you have chosen to be part of it with us! 

It was an amazing culmination of what God has not only be doing on the football team for many, many years but on Ohio State’s campus as a whole!
